The teaser jumps straight into the action. It’s a great way to begin the episode and drew me in right away. I especially loved that it was Wyatt, Chris and Prue working together from the beginning and Wyatt’s personality is clear from the beginning—he’s the one who runs in without thinking! It’s already clear that the three have been fighting demons together for some time.
A great introduction of the evil characters and it seems that they will become the main bad guys for the season. The explanation of the Charmed Ones retiring and the reason for evil’s return is clear and makes sense, considering the ending to Season 8 of Charmed.
I am intrigued at where Piper and Leo are. The conversation in P3 suggests that Wyatt, Chris and Prue own the manor. I guess all that will be explained during the episode/season.
Ah, and of course there is the grand old tradition of damaging the grandfather clock. I’m glad that was worth mentioning in the episode—and I’m sure it won’t be the last time that the clock is damaged. The connection between the siblings is great and clear that they have grown up knowing their destiny and always been close. I am interested in knowing how their sibling rivalry is and what will cause them to fall out—even the Charmed Ones had that happen.
The first thing I don’t really like about Prue—expecting the guy to make the first move. I hope she was meant to say it in a joking way. By 2030 odd, I would hope that women would be at the stage of not expecting the men to make the first move…although that is more a personal point.
I’m a little confused at how Chris knows Arcos. Did I miss something at the start with the rat demons or is this something that will be explained later in the season? But I wonder what will happen to Chris…will his siblings find out that he needs saving?
I like the fact that they’re saving an innocent but they seem a little too happy about exposing magic to him. I hope that they’ll do something to explain it or wipe his memory to ensure he doesn’t tell the local news!
It’s nice to see that the premonitions are helping Prue find out everything that has happened. It just shows how powerful that power actually is. I would like to know how Prue saw Wyatt looking at someone in the club when she wasn’t there. Is this another one of her powers or is she assuming he’s looking at someone from earlier?
Okay, I feel like I’m missing something. Who’s Derrick? They were talking about the shapeshifters and I don’t remember seeing the name Derrick pop up.
Poor Connor. All he wants is an explanation and nobody has given him it yet. He definitely has a right to find out what is going on, but I’m not sure why they need to wait for Wyatt. It would make more sense to breakdown about magic and warlocks and how good and evil work and then explain why warlocks are after him once they know.
But I am glad to see that they’ve done something to protect magic. He definitely doesn’t need to know all about it and they don’t know him enough to know whether they can trust him.
All in all, it was an interesting episode and I enjoy the storyline with the demons. It definitely sets it up for the season and I look forward to reading more. There are just a few bits that I’m not too sure about but at least they’re not vital for the storyline.
Great job, Rach!
