Piper was chopping vegetables in the kitchen and preparing for the dinner rush. She let out a sigh and wiped some sweat from her furrowed brow. Lately she had been feeling as though everything was going well...a little too well. She knew from experience that these bouts of quite never lasted. Not when you were a charmed one, powers bound or not. She put her knife down on the counter and turned to her sous chef "I'm taking a break, be back in five" She said a half smile on her lips. Her sous chef nodded and Piper headed for the door that led into the restaurant. The cool air from the air conditioner prickled her skin as she entered the main dining room. Piper shivered a little and rubbed her arms to get rid of the goosebumps.
Piper sat down at a nearby table and looked around at the empty restaurant. It was closed in order for them to prepare for the dinner crowd. There was something so peaceful about it at this time of day when no one else was around Piper liked to think about life and how much things had changed in the last ten years or so. She was grateful for all she had and didn't regret a single moment of it. She glanced over at the two pictures on a nearby wall. There was one of her with Phoebe and Prue and one of her with Paige and Phoebe. Piper let out a deep breath and smiled to herself. As much as she had embraced her destiny as a charmed one it was nice to be cooking something other than potions.
Piper played with her triquetra necklace and gazed off into the distance. She was so zoned out that she didn't realize she wasn't alone anymore until someones shadow blocked the light streaming in from the windows. Piper squinted to see who was standing over her. "Sorry we're not open right now" She said smiling politely at the person she couldn't yet identify.
