You know that feeling that comes over you when someone’s eyes are on you? You are not exactly sure if they are but you don’t want to be paranoid, as if anyone would realize or something? Kirby did. Kirby turned and took off her headphones looking around the park. It was midday but the section of the park she was at was secluded. She swallowed a breath as she looked around, not entirely comfortable thinking someone was out there. Her breath was coming out fast and the sun was just above her head. She took her hair out of the ponytail that it was in and shook it out. She turned back around, and started walking as she tied her hair back into the ponytail. Behind her, what sounded like inches away from her back, a twig snapped. It sounded so close that not only did scream but she fell to the ground. She looked up from behind herself and saw nothing, no one moved that fast. She stayed on the ground as she thought about all that happened earlier that week. This entire week she felt like someone had been following her and it was driving her nuts.
She almost hit an old lady with her car cause she swore she saw red eyes in her rearview mirror. When she did look into her mirror, there was just a man standing in the middle of the road but then she swore his eyes turned red. That was before a purse hit her windshield in warning and she slammed her brakes. After that, she had an eight o clock class and when she was leaving, she found a photo of a blond haired woman taped to her car. She had never seen the photo before and she didn’t know the woman but it was just adding to the creepiness factor. Now, she was on the ground in the park. A man jogged past her giving her a crazy look, he must have seen the whole thing. She lifted a hand and blinked hard at him as if to say WHAT?!
“C’mon Kirby…get it together.” She told herself as she sighed and rose to her feet. But there in the dirt, behind her tracks was another set of tracks. It was a huge boot track. She could see her tracks but then another that was standing right behind hers. “Oh my god…” she whispered as she stood up, her eyes still locked in on the other tracks. She got up and started running but this time she wasn’t worried about her pace, this was more of a freak-out run. She went off the trail cutting through the course trying to get to the beginning of the course and hailing a taxi. She made it out of the woods and glanced behind her just for a second and wham. She just prayed it wasn’t a wall.
She slammed right into someone, butting heads and falling to the ground. “Mother!” she screamed, not finishing the popular oops phrase. She looked across from her at the person she quite literally slammed into. “Oh my god…I’m so sorry!”
