If it wasn't for the somewhat cool powers he had developed over the years, he really wouldn't mind so much being a Shadowlighter, but it was only until the 'responsibility' clause had kicked in that he regretted ever being born one sometimes. It really was a bother starting to hear the annoying ringing in one's head every now and again, especially when Jacob just wanted to relax. Yes, the man was naturally evil at heart, but that didn't mean that he just wanted to relax. Jacob is the kind of man that just wants to do nothing all day basically, which was ironic. His mentor and father always talked down to him about it infuriatingly just because they thought Jacob was a natural born talent with his abilities as a Shadowlighter. He didn't really think he was anything special himself, or probably he would respect that more and be more active; however, he was the kind of guy that acted only if necessary. Normally, one would find Jacob just lounging around the Underworld, or above ground lounging on the freshly cut lawns of a city park looking up at the stars. Just because he was evil didn't mean he didn't appreciate some of the luxuries humans have. Just the ability to look up at the skies was something calming and inspiring. He wasn't a demon, so he was more than capable of appreciating something so surreal. He grew up as a young man in the human element, so there were some things he could take from that even as a Shadowlighter.
Jacob was in the park that evening to try and clear his head even more than he normally would be. The annoying ringin in his ears was a sign that he was starting to come in to more of his Shadowlighter responsibilities. Unfortunately, there was more to it than the occasional Whitelighter hunt and Orbing. Over time, he has had more than his share of fun and experiences to the point that he was claimed to be a prodigy of his time, but clearly, because of his lax personality, the demonic hierarchy responsible for Shadowlighter affairs has never seem him fit to be more than just a hitman, which was the status of Guardian to future Shadowlighters and warlocks. However, Jacob was coming into his time and experiences, so it was only a matter of time. The ringing only came recently, and he's been trying his best to shake it off, so coming to the park that night was hopefully a measure to relax him. Jacob gazed up at the starlit night with his arms behind his head and his body spreadeagled. Just looking up at them was calming and inviting even; sometimes, he'd think about his same targets being up there and imagining Grey Orbing up there someday, or even shooting down the same stars that could very well be those Elder beings looking down. Either way Jacob could get his good times just from that; even the ringing seemed to be less pounding there and then.
