Penny was running as fast as she could down a crowded San Francisco street, dodging people the best she could, but it was safe to say that she was hitting more people than she managed to avoid. And why this sudden commotion? Well, it was to avoid another commotion. One that was much worse. She could deal with people looking at her angrily, screaming mean things after her as she crashed into them, she was used to people thinking she was a bitch anyway. What they didn’t know was that even though she might have dislocated a few shoulders in the process, she was saving their lives.
Because she wasn’t running for fun, nor to get a better place in line into P3, which was where she had been heading, because let’s face it, all she had to do to get in was give the bouncer a nod, or maybe even a wink. Anyways… So back to why she was running. As stated, she was on her way to P3 when a bunch of demons, who she had been fighting just yesterday, and might have killed a few of them, shimmered in behind her. Apparently they weren’t very happy with her, and she assumed that they wanted revenge.
Penny sure wasn’t one to run from a fight, but she didn’t want to fight a bunch of demons in the middle of the street. That would just get her in trouble with the elders and cleaners again, and she for sure didn’t want that. So she wasn’t running from the fight, she was just changing the location of it.
She didn’t see how far behind her the demons were, but she couldn’t see them as she turned a corner and ran into a smaller street, and finally into the alley she had orbed into countless times. She stopped, trying to catch her breath. She expected the demons to appear any second, and she needed to be ready for them.
She eventually stopped panting and was surprised that the demons hadn’t showed up yet. Maybe they hadn’t been spending too much time at the gym lately? She was just about to go look for them, making sure they hadn’t lost her and decided to cause havoc out on the street instead, when she got hit from behind in the arm by an energyball. Well damn, they were tricky sons of bitches. Even though she was used to the feeling by now, it burned, and hurt enough to make her eyes tear up. She clutched her arm in pain. When looking over her shoulder she saw that five demons had shimmered in behind her. Then five more demons showed up in front of her, breathing heavily from running after her.
”You didn’t think we would just forget about you, did you?” One said, with a smile, revealing sharp pointed teeth. How pretty! She thought as she backed up against the wall, and got ready to fight them. But as they closed in on her, she realized that they were just a few too many for her to handle by herself, especially since they had already managed to weaken her. And after all, fighting alone wasn’t as fun as being a team. So she called out for her family. “Melinda! Some help here?”
She hadn’t hung out with her cousins and brother for a while, so she added their names as well, “Halliwells, anyone really!? You up for some fun?” She said. A family reunion sounded like fun, but she doubted that that many would return her call, probably thinking someone else could deal with whatever trouble penny got into this time. After all, this wasn’t the first time she had gone on a hunting mission and pissed off the wrong guy in the underworld. But hopefully the family that actually showed up wouldn’t focus too much on that.
She turned to the demons and decided to get a head start, and with a smile she orbed a few of the energy balls heading her way towards their owners, evening out the playing field a little bit as two demons burst into flames. “That’s all you’ve got?” she chuckled, and then had to duck quickly to avoid another energy ball. Pissing them off further maybe wasnt the best idea!
