Sky looked around the empty classroom, he had been there for nearly three hours. He thought to himself, this is what I get for taking AP Chem only once a week. If he would have taken it everyday it would have only been an hour and fifteen minutes, but with all of his other classes it just wouldn't fit into his schedule. So he took the three hour class, by the end of it his head was pounding. Shoving his lab book in his leather messenger bag, Sky left the classroom. It was almost time for lunch, so he decided to make his way to the cafeteria. His blue eyes looking at everyone, he still didn't fully understand what it meant to be a witch. He knew that he was different from other people. He could cast spells, he could scry, and he had powers. Sometimes it scared him, especially when he lost control of his powers. So with that all weighing on his mind Sky pushed the door open to the cafeteria.
People were already there, talking among themselves, eating what looked liked meatloaf. Sky was thankful that he had gotten a job at the start semester. He could go to the deli part and pay for his meal instead of using his meal plan. Sky was happy to get out of the orphanage, he finally had his own room, well he had to share with one other person, but he would take that over ten other people any day. Sky got in line with the rest of the people that decided that they would rather have a burger than meatloaf. Sky reached into his back pocket and pulled out his wallet after ordering. He paid the lady and then moved out of the way for the next person to order. He was that socially awkward kid that didn't really talk to people, he purposely did homework while eating so people wouldn't just come up and talk to him. Memories swirled around his head about high school, or hell as he thought it was. They teased, bullied, and picked on him every day. He didn't do anything to them, he was just poor, and didn't have a family. That was the reason they picked on him.
Sky knew that college would be different, that he could be whoever he wanted to be. Still he didn't want to be anyone but himself. He liked who he was, he had so much to offer people. The problem that Sky had was the fact that he didn't know how not to be scared of being rejected like in high school. So he would continue to do homework while eating and maybe someone would look over at him and see how lonely he really was. Sky picked up his meal, made his way to the back of the cafeteria and
picked the table against the far wall. He pulled the AP Chem book out of his bag and opened it up to the assignment that the Professor had assigned the class before dismissing them. He looked over the text and figured he might as well get most of it done during his lunch. The only thing that saved him on Friday's was the fact that he only had the one class, so after he ate he could go back to his dorm room and get some more sleep.
