Lately things seem to be going well for her so far, but she knew it was only a matter of time before something bad happened. And more more important when she least expected it. To be honest, Annika was starting to get tired of always having her guard up all the time, but then again, what choice did she have. It was either that or risk her stepfather not only finding her, but Annika's little brother Elijah as well, and she knew that was she just could not risk happening right now.
So as she walked out of her last class of the day and across campus, her mind went back to what started all this cycle of death. Her stepfather. Annika still did not know what Rodney was ater or why he had to kill her mother. And for all she knew, is that her stepfather could also behind her grandmother's death as well. But why? That was the question that kept going ovet and over again in her mind. If Annika could figure out on what Rodney was after, then maybe she could find a way to help better protect her brother.
Annika looked up and saw it was starting to get later and turn darker as the sun started to set. She knew that she had to get home soon, so she could get back to Elijah. Because Annika knew that her little brother Elijah didn't have Annika's abilities to defend and protect himself. So that meant Annika had to keep the promise she made to her grandmother, which was to always take care and protect her brother against anyone. But in order for her to do that, Annika knew she had to learn more about her magic, so that she could get better at it.
While she was walking down the street a few blocks away from her college, that's when Annika started to get a very uneasy feeling. She looked around her and did not see anything out of the normal, there were business still open and running, people walking around. After a minute she shook off the feeling and continued on. But shortly when she got closer to home by a park, is when her uneasy feeling grew. It was like all of Annika's instincts were screaming at her. She turned to look behind her and saw why. There she saw both a familiar face one and one she did not want to see. Rodney was walking not that far behind her.
At first, the only thing she could feel was shocked. After that wore off, then came a sense of panic, and did the only thing she could do. She ran. Annika took off running through the park, cause Annika knew that she had to lose her stepfather before going home. There was no way she was going to show Rodney where she lived, because that would lead him right to her brother Elijah. There must be some way to lose Rodney. Just as she roundes a all corner, she saw she had a large head start. But Annika was so focused on what was behind her, that she forgot to pay attention to what was in front and going on around her.
While she was running, Annika felt herself run smack into a solid wall, bounced off and fell to the ground. She looked up to see what she hit, and Annika saw that she did not bump into a wall, buy another person. It was a man. She got to her feet and spoke. "I am so sorry Sir. I did not mean to bump into you like that. I was just..trying to lose someone. Hopefully I did", Annika said. She looked around her but saw no sign of her stepfather, or maybe it was the man in from of her was taller then she was, which could be a goos thing. Annika thought about maybe asking the man for his help.
